BEACH DAYS WITH DOGS
Dog-Friendly Beaches in Northeast Florida

Spanish River Park ocean beach
Boca Raton, Florida
Spanish River suits a longer park-and-beach day. The middle tunnel has a published beach mat; dog access is limited to Bark Beach’s exact area, permit and hours, and beach parking costs are separate.
Fort Lauderdale Beach
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Choose Fort Lauderdale for a developed beach day with restaurants, hotels and a substantial Ocean Rescue service. Traffic, parking costs and designated dog/surf areas are the tradeoffs; a hotel frontage is not automatically a public parking route.
Hollywood Beach
Hollywood, Florida
Choose Hollywood for the Broadwalk, easy meal stops and staffed beach recreation. Dogs and watersports have specific zones; use the correct entrance rather than assuming every rule applies uniformly along the city’s shore.
Haulover Beach

A boat-only sandbar/island outing and the specific pet exception in Anclote Key Preserve. The separate Anclote Key and Three Rooker beaches prohibit pets.
Hagen’s Cove
Hagen’s Cove, Florida
A small natural shore beside tidal flats, with birdwatching trails and picnic shelters. Choose it for coastal scenery and a nature outing rather than resort-style facilities.
Wakulla Beach
Wakulla Beach, Florida
A grassy, marsh-edged refuge shoreline for coastal birdwatching, photography and lawful paddling or fishing. It is not a conventional sandy swimming beach; refuge rules prohibit swimming.
St. Marks Lighthouse Shoreline
St. Marks, Florida
A lighthouse, coastal sandflats and rock jetty for wildlife viewing and shore fishing. This refuge shoreline is a scenic stop rather than a swimming beach: swimming is prohibited.
