Meaningful corrections and changes

This is a curated public history of supported changes, not a claim that every earlier edit was logged. Evidence reports and implementation commits retain the detailed audit trail. Unresolved research is not silently rewritten.

October 2, 2026 — Dated conditions without JavaScript

Before: several condition panels required JavaScript and displayed loading placeholders. After: saved weather, forecasts, tides, surf risk and area alerts are embedded with their dates and source links; available laboratory results retain separate sample and retrieval dates. Static copies are labeled saved and potentially out of date. Failed live refreshes retain historical content. The Indian River forecast-area key was corrected to match the official NWS feed. This does not establish a live beach flag, current opening or safe water.

October 2, 2026 — Local entrance evidence

Melbourne Beach now identifies the published 2026 seasonal tower at Ocean Avenue; the season has ended, and staffing must be checked on arrival. Peters Point and Huguenot distinguish documented accessible park features from unverified routes over sand. Southend Walkover names its county parking area without inventing a capacity or fee. Jacksonville Beach now shows its FY2026 public toilet locations and seasonal facility hours, separate from beach-entry hours. Remaining manager questions stay open; this is not a county-completeness decision.

October 2, 2026 — Essential-field follow-ups

Nine existing field gaps now have scoped source-backed answers: Atlantic Beach seasonal guards; Cape Canaveral dog rules and Mobi-Mat routes; Indialantic’s timed dog segment and Nance boardwalk ramps; Satellite Beach’s Pelican crossover and unguarded city shoreline; Melbourne Beach pet restrictions; and Playalinda parking/ramp limitations. Forty-eight of the original questions remain open with named manager follow-ups. NPS pages disagree on Apollo’s ADA ramp list, and the two county pages disagree on River-to-Sea ocean-entry hours; neither conflict is silently resolved. This pass does not establish county completeness, continuous wheelchair routes over sand or current lifeguard staffing.

October 2, 2026 — Practical entrance information

Main Beach: parking now reads free, based on Brad’s explicit confirmation on October 2; this is a user confirmation, not an agency statement. City sources support its Mobi-Mat and free wheelchair reservation details. Hanna Park: city rules establish Memorial Day–Labor Day ocean lifeguard coverage. Cocoa Beach: current city parking prices and free Lori Wilson parking are distinguished; four accessible Lori Wilson crossovers do not imply a firm route to the water. The park and Ocean Rescue pages describe different guard seasons, so actual staffing remains a check-on-arrival question. Apollo: NPS ramp and two-hour wheelchair-loan guidance is added; backcountry access and temporary closures remain separate.

October 1, 2026 — Conditions expiration and verification scope

Before: loaded feed values could remain on screen after their useful lifetime, and guide review dates could be mistaken for verification of every fact. After: each connected feed has explicit expiration and retrieval wording; failed refreshes show dated non-current fallbacks. Guide labels distinguish desk review from field verification. No forecast is converted into an observed flag, and missing field dates remain unknown.

October 1, 2026 — Local dining descriptions

Before: some descriptions did not explain how an operator related to the beach. After: reviewed descriptions distinguish the Cocoa Beach pier from downtown Minutemen Causeway and port-district restaurants from ocean entrances. Coconuts customer parking is not represented as public beach parking. Scope: named dining options, not an audit of all businesses or current availability.

October 1, 2026 — Guide navigation

Before: a visitor had to work through a long guide to reach entrance and service information. After: Essentials, Entrances and Services links reach the relevant section and move keyboard focus; expanded conditions are accessible from section navigation. Scope: all 65 published guides. This presentation change does not confirm new entrances or resolve research unknowns.

October 1, 2026 — Corrections channel

Before: the public corrections destination required clarification. After: the published corrections channel uses [email protected]. Submitted suggestions still require evidence review; they are not automatic edits.
