Entry route, fees & access boundaries
Manager / access authority
Florida Park Service
Access basis
This listing covers a publicly managed beach access or park, not a private guest-only beach.
Where to enter
905 Shorewinds Drive; park parking and designated ocean crossovers, not Tucker Cove lagoon launch.
Fees & reservations
Day admission is $6 per vehicle with up to eight people, $4 for a single occupant or motorcycle, and $2 for pedestrians, bicyclists or applicable extra passengers. The park links an official single-use online day pass. Confirm current accepted payment and pass terms before arriving.
Restrictions & exceptions
Park hours, posted notices, protected dunes and designated routes apply. No lifeguards. A paid public park is distinct from temporary access availability.
What this label covers
The named park or beach entrance and its designated visitor areas. Adjacent land ownership and exact shoreline boundaries are not surveyed in this guide.

Beach ownership, the route across land, public shoreline-use rights and access to facilities are separate questions. Rules vary by state and location. Use the identified public entrance or documented permission; neither a nearby resort nor an admission fee by itself establishes that a beach is private. A mapped beach is not permission to cross private property.

Access policy reviewed 2026-10-03. Not a live closure report or a property-boundary survey.

Allowed & prohibited activities

Alcohol consumption prohibited on public state-park beaches; designated permitted event/accommodation exceptions do not authorize casual beach drinking.

Fires are allowed only in designated park areas; fireworks are prohibited. A picnic grill does not authorize a bonfire on the beach. Check staff instructions and current fire restrictions.

General state-park rules prohibit dispersed camping and overnight stays in day-use parking. An old brochure is not proof of a currently bookable campground; current campground and group-camping availability has not been established. Ask park staff before planning an overnight visit.

Weather alerts do not confirm swimming safety, lifeguard staffing, water quality or beach closures. No alert does not mean safe water.

Water quality

DOH-St. Lucie publishes periodic beach and river bacteria samples. No independently reconciled sampling-station mapping is assigned to this guide yet; use the official county results. Ocean, inlet and lagoon samples are different locations, and an old advisory or lifting notice is not today’s water status.

Crowd meter

No measured beach attendance or live occupancy series was found in the park, county or destination sources reviewed. Plan around the managed parking entrance and shared picnic facilities; this guide makes no numerical crowd score or promise of an empty beach.

Sand & sandcastles

The park’s history describes white ocean sand; its swimming description specifies a firm sandy underwater bottom. Neither is a current sandcastle test, measured grain-size rating or wheelchair-mobility guarantee.

Surfing profile

The state park specifically offers ocean surfing on the north side of the inlet. Use the ocean beach and current posted instructions; lagoon rental availability does not create an ocean paddle launch. Rip currents and inlet conditions require a separate current safety check.

Snorkeling & scuba diving

The park lists snorkeling and describes an offshore reef. It is exposed ocean water without lifeguards, not a sheltered beginner snorkeling lagoon. Use a suitable buddy plan and current conditions; do not assume the reef’s published distance guarantees a manageable swim.

Sources & review date

Source ↗ · reviewed 2026-10-03T12:18:19.785Z

Official shore-access dive reef approximately 100 yards offshore, described depth 16–20 feet. Shore & sky wildlife

The park documents migratory shorebirds around its beach and inlet, including herons, egrets, plovers and loons. Gopher tortoises and occasional bobcats belong to trail and hammock habitat. Lagoon-side eagles and ospreys are separate from the ocean shore; protect nests and observe from a distance.
