Public or private?
Public access
Who can visit: Open to the general public, including visitors, during permitted hours and subject to posted rules.
Entry route, fees & access boundaries
- Manager / access authority
- Florida DEP, Division of Recreation and Parks, manages the named state recreation area.
- Access basis
- This listing covers a publicly managed beach access or park, not a private guest-only beach.
- Where to enter
- Named Gulf day-use beach at 6773 Cape San Blas Road; all-abilities day use, cabin eligibility separate. Use the named public arrival; no neighboring private parcel crossing or outer beach boundary is granted by this guide.
- Fees & reservations
- See the entrance section for parking and entry details and sources.
- Restrictions & exceptions
- Stay on signed public crossings, avoid dunes and nesting areas, fill holes and remove trash. Public shore identity does not grant private road or parcel passage.
- What this label covers
- Named shoreline and supported arrival only; public access is separate from temporary closure.
Beach ownership, the route across land, public shoreline-use rights and access to facilities are separate questions. Rules vary by state and location. Use the identified public entrance or documented permission; neither a nearby resort nor an admission fee by itself establishes that a beach is private. A mapped beach is not permission to cross private property.
Access policy reviewed 2026-10-05. Not a live closure report or a property-boundary survey.
Allowed & prohibited activities
Alcohol: Alcohol rules are not confirmed for this beach.
What still needs confirmation
No beach-specific alcohol exception was established for Rish. A general pet-friendly county beach policy does not govern this state recreation area.
Fires and grills: Any permitted fire or grill areas still need confirmation. Follow the restrictions stated here.
What still needs confirmation
Use only a ranger-authorized grill or designated fire ring. A county beach bonfire rule does not apply as permission inside this state area.
Overnight camping: Overnight stays use booked disability-eligible park cabins; public all-abilities day use is not overnight beach camping.
Shore fishing: Rish identifies Gulf shore fishing and St. Joseph Bay wade fishing. Follow signed routes and FWC species/season/license rules.
