Carteret County · Use the named public approach at 2701 Emerald Drive and check its current postings.
Beach driving is a separate permitted four-wheel-drive activity with designated ramps and seasonal restrictions. Current permit guidance includes a March 26–April 4, 2027 closure; closures do not make ordinary road parking a beach-driving entitlement.

Carteret County · Use the destination-specific lawful boat landing and obey protected postings; departure addresses are not island waypoints.
North Core vehicle access requires the applicable park permit and the correct Atlantic vehicle-ferry approach, subject to actual operator availability, storms and closures. This does not certify a continuous open road or every island landing.
