Accessibility: Named approaches/chairs. County 2 Highway 210 and County 4 opposite Town Park/New River Inlet Road are manager-identified accessible approaches. Town owns two beach wheelchairs and a walker; ask police 9103280042 about availability. Exact step-free endpoints, slopes and remaining sand gaps were not independently established.

Known for

Ocean swimming, surfing, shells and ancient shark-teeth searching are promoted by the Town. Ocean City Beach preserves a significant African American coastal community history, including the former fishing pier; these references do not certify collectible abundance or current pier operation.

Restrictions & exceptions
North Carolina’s private-parts exposure law applies independently of female-topless policy. A separate current female-topless provision was not established from the bounded responsible/code review; this is not permission.
What this label covers
NCDEQ/DCM OBJECTID353, Onslow County Beach Access2,2950 Island Drive; SURV_DATE 1706140800000. Source observation planning point only, not present facility inspection, beach boundary, accessible route, water-entry or navigation waypoint.

Beach ownership, the route across land, public shoreline-use rights and access to facilities are separate questions. Rules vary by state and location. Use the identified public entrance or documented permission; neither a nearby resort nor an admission fee by itself establishes that a beach is private. A mapped beach is not permission to cross private property.

Access policy reviewed 2026-10-09. Not a live closure report or a property-boundary survey.

Allowed & prohibited activities

Alcohol: Legal-age visitors may consume malt beverages/beer and unfortified wine on the public beach under the Town no-glass rule. Spirituous liquor and fortified wine require the identified state permit. All alcohol is prohibited at Town Park and County Beach Accesses; do not apply a broad strand allowance to those facilities.

Fires and grills: No open fires or charcoal grills. Only a small gas grill with contained fire is allowed under Town rules. The Town prohibits the specified exploding, detonating, loud, aerial or otherwise unauthorized fireworks under its cited state-law categories; no broader fireworks permission is inferred.

Overnight camping: Overnight camping on the beach or using it as a domicile is prohibited. Remove personal beach equipment; unattended items 9 p.m.–7 a.m.are classified abandoned and removed year-round.

Shore fishing: Shore fishing rules are not confirmed for this beach.

What still needs confirmation

The Town promotes shore/pier/boat fishing. NC coastal recreational license requirements apply to the specified coastal waters; exact current strand casting exclusions and pier-distance rules were not established here. Do not fish/swim from revetments or geotubes.

Conditions at the beach

Local times use Eastern Time. Regional forecasts, tide predictions, observed flags and dated water samples are separate; no current beach safety status is asserted.

North Carolina DEQ recreational water monitoring ↗: exact station, sample and retrieval clocks must match this shore.

Weather, forecasts & tides

No timestamped exact beach weather observation was verified. NWS office routing is independently checked, but a regional forecast or loading widget is not a live entrance observation.

The independently checked NWS planning point routes to MHX and America/New_York. Follow its official forecast link; this routing evidence does not supply a current forecast reading or exact beach observation.

A regional NOAA tide source was reviewed, but an exact beach tide-timing offset and lawful island landing conditions were not established. Inlet predictions do not certify ocean-shore timing or boat-navigation safety.

Use the official MHX beach/rip guidance for this independently routed planning point. Forecast risk is regional and time limited; it is not an observed flag, current tower duty or guarantee of safe swimming.

The Town explicitly promotes searching for ancient shark teeth along the shore. Exact productivity, collection limits and present finds were not verified; do not treat this as an abundance guarantee.
