Ocean City Beach
A developed Atlantic beach beside Ocean City, with a boardwalk on its southern portion and designated dune crossovers farther north. Beach entry is public and free; parking is separate.
Public Landing Beach
A small Chincoteague Bay beach with adjacent parking; pier is less than quarter-mile away. Bring supplies: official tourism reports portable toilets and no snack/drink outlet.
Homer Gudelsky Park Beach
Small county-owned sandy waterfront for beach use, fishing and bay views near Ocean City Inlet. Parking is extremely limited; inlet currents and boat traffic require caution.
Assateague Island National Seashore — Maryland Ocean Beach
A sandy Atlantic barrier-island shore with developed North and South beach accesses, dunes and separate conditional OSV travel.
Assateague State Park Beach
Two miles of DNR ocean beach with a public day-use arrival, separate campground access and a seasonally guarded swimming sector.
Assateague Bayside Beach
A small bay-facing beach and picnic area reached by Bayside Drive, with seasonal paddling rentals.
Old Ferry Landing Beach — Assateague
A tiny bay beach beside a crabbing spot and kayak launch; the developed bulkhead and boardwalk are separate from a designated ocean swimming beach.
Isle of Wight Nature Park Beach
A small sandy bay-edge access for nonmotorized cartop vessels, with piers, picnic areas and wildlife viewing in the surrounding nature park. This guide supports shore/launch planning without recommending a swim.
Sun Outdoors Ocean City Guest Beach
A bayfront resort beach and separate Bark Beach offered as guest amenities. Book and register with the resort; this is not a general public walk-in beach.
Oceanic Motel Bayside Guest Beach
The hotel advertises a private bayside beach with hammocks. Brochure photographs show a sandy guest terrace above an armored seawall; a continuous sand-to-water route is not established. Plan for private bay views and sand lounging, not an assumed swimming beach.
Coverage and evidence
This directory contains 28 source references: 10 named-shore guide summaries and 18 DNR coastal water-access observations. Summaries may overlap inventory references; these are not counts of distinct beaches, usable crossings or a complete county access inventory. Other retained river/creek or unresolved candidates remain private pending documented coastal setting and arrival scope.
State Park, NPS Maryland, Town and county rules apply to their exact places. Boat launches, docks, guest registrations and historical inventories do not establish swimming permission or a continuous public shore.
Map pins are approximate planning references. Check the selected guide for the exact arrival and manager notices; forecasts, tide predictions, laboratory samples and warning flags have separate sources and dates.
