Official route / restriction details ↗Parking, route & accessibility evidence
Parking & entry: Choose the signed public entrance. Mid-Town visitors can use signed ParkMobile spaces around South Ocean Boulevard, Hammon Avenue and the 100 block of Royal Palm Way. The Town lists meters active 9 a.m.–midnight there. Pay for the posted zone using the app, browser or telephone; green residential-permit spaces have different eligibility. Hourly price and space availability must be checked at the chosen space.
Parking source ↗Accessibility: Choose the exact accessible route. Disabled-parking provisions apply to Town parking, but they do not establish a continuous accessible route onto Mid-Town sand. Contact Ocean Rescue to discuss the entrance and assistance suitable for your visit; a verified step-free route and current beach-chair arrangement are still needed.

Timing: Midtown’s public beach from Royal Palm Way south to Gulfstream Road is closed from sunset to sunrise under Town Code §74-196. The published schedule is separate from today’s opening status and lifeguard coverage. Bringing a dog: Town visitor guidance allows dogs only on the Sunset Avenue–Wells Road beach area, with off-leash use dawn–9 a.m. and a leash after 9 a.m. Do not project that exception onto Mid-Town Municipal Beach. Swimming: Town Ocean Rescue describes seven-day, year-round service at its two municipal beaches. This general program description is not proof of staffing at a closed Phipps beach route or a current observed flag. Getting there: See the entrance section for parking and entry details and sources. Facilities: Ask Town Ocean Rescue about the nearest available public restroom and rinse point before arriving. The reviewed Mid-Town sources do not identify an operating public facility at a particular entrance; hotel restrooms and Phipps amenities are not Mid-Town facilities. Accessible visit: See the entrance section for accessibility details and sources. Latest beach notice: Palm Beach Ocean Rescue publishes a daily telephone beach report at 561-835-4693, updated each morning. Check it and the onsite lifeguard flag for Mid-Town; this research has not verified a machine-readable beach-specific observed flag. Nearby county and Boca flag reports must not be used as substitutes.

Public or private?
Public access
Who can visit: Open to the general public, including visitors, during permitted hours and subject to posted rules.
Entry route, fees & access boundaries
- Manager / access authority
- Town of Palm Beach manages the described public beach facilities; do not infer management from the mailing municipality alone.
- Access basis
- This listing covers a publicly managed beach access or park, not a private guest-only beach.
- Where to enter
- Responsible authority identifies this as a public beach destination. Public eligibility is separate from temporary closure, individual entrance availability and route accessibility.
- Fees & reservations
- Blue signs identify paid ParkMobile parking; pay by app, web, text or telephone. Town-resident ParkMobile permits cost $50 and allow two hours in eligible spaces; they are not a visitor beach-entry pass. Other permits and residential spaces have separate eligibility.
- Restrictions & exceptions
- Obey Town lifeguards’ lawful directions. Glass is prohibited, as are smoking cigarettes or other tobacco products except unfiltered cigars. Town-guarded public beaches restrict swimming to within 300 feet of shore, and lifeguards may impose tighter limits when hazards require. Public status does not override a construction closure. Town visitor guidance allows dogs only on the Sunset Avenue–Wells Road beach area, with off-leash use dawn–9 a.m. and a leash after 9 a.m. Do not project that exception onto Mid-Town Municipal Beach. Midtown’s public beach from Royal Palm Way south to Gulfstream Road is closed from sunset to sunrise under Town Code §74-196. The published schedule is separate from today’s opening status and lifeguard coverage.
- What this label covers
- Approved named destination only; public eligibility does not imply current opening or a surveyed accessible entrance.
Beach ownership, the route across land, public shoreline-use rights and access to facilities are separate questions. Rules vary by state and location. Use the identified public entrance or documented permission; neither a nearby resort nor an admission fee by itself establishes that a beach is private. A mapped beach is not permission to cross private property.
Access policy reviewed 2026-10-03. Not a live closure report or a property-boundary survey.
Allowed & prohibited activities
The Town prohibits drinking intoxicating beverages on public beaches. The exception for private property owners and their authorized guests applies on their private property, not this public beach.
