Parking, route & accessibility evidence

Parking & entry: Arrange boat transport. The park is accessible only by boat; it is not an A1A roadside entrance. Plan a lawful launching or transport arrangement separately. Preserve the historical ocean observation as shoreline orientation, not a drivable parking destination.

Accessibility: Boardwalk, then sand. An accessible dock ramp, picnic facilities and restrooms are listed. The 3,330-foot boardwalk ends about 300 feet before the beach, followed by sand; the accessible structures do not establish a continuous step-free route to the ocean. Reserve a beach wheelchair in advance with the park and confirm transfer needs.

Public or private?

Public · fee applies

Who can visit: Open to the general public, including visitors, during permitted hours and subject to posted rules.

Entry route, fees & access boundaries
Manager / access authority
Florida Park Service manages the named destination. Ocean beach, lagoon facilities, hotel access and neighboring destinations are not interchangeable entrances.
Access basis
This listing covers a publicly managed beach access or park, not a private guest-only beach.
Where to enter
Florida Park Service and the named official visitor listing support a public visitor destination through designated entrances. Public access is distinct from present opening, protected-area closures and neighboring private parcels.
Fees & reservations
Published admission is $3 per boat or $2 per canoe/kayak. Pay the honor box with correct change. Transport and camping charges are separate.
Restrictions & exceptions
Use the boat-arrival visitor route and designated trails; posted park closures and protected habitat restrictions apply. Confirm the park’s ocean-beach pet restrictions before arranging boat transport; a general state-park pet policy does not grant permission on this beach. Open 8 a.m. to sundown, 365 days a year. Arrange private boat transport and check park notices; published hours are not an observation of current opening.
What this label covers
Only the approved named entrance membership; outer boundaries and temporary operating status remain separate.

Beach ownership, the route across land, public shoreline-use rights and access to facilities are separate questions. Rules vary by state and location. Use the identified public entrance or documented permission; neither a nearby resort nor an admission fee by itself establishes that a beach is private. A mapped beach is not permission to cross private property.

Access policy reviewed 2026-10-03. Not a live closure report or a property-boundary survey.

Allowed & prohibited activities

Confirm state-park restrictions before bringing alcohol; county park policy does not govern this state preserve.

The park permits fishing from its docks, beach and reef subject to FWC licensing and rules. Spearfishing is prohibited. Dive groups require a diver-down flag, at least two divers and completion at least one hour before sunset; these are activity rules, not current safe-entry conditions.

Official beach bacteria testing · Florida Healthy Beaches

No direct named ocean sampling point is confirmed for this guide. No river or lagoon sample is substituted.

No usable dated laboratory snapshot is mapped to this guide. Use the official report link; no safe-water status is assumed.

A dated result is not available in this saved page.

Official Martin County results ↗ · About Florida Healthy Beaches ↗

What these results mean

Enterococci are bacteria used to indicate possible fecal contamination. Florida describes 0–35 per 100 mL as Good, 36–70 as Moderate, and 71 or more as Poor. These are periodic laboratory samples, not continuous monitoring.

The Beach Database checks the official report daily, but Florida’s sampling schedule is generally weekly or biweekly. The check time and laboratory sample date are different. Samples more than 14 days old are marked older; that reminder is not an official advisory threshold.

A nearby station is identified by name and distance. Its result is context, not a sample taken at this beach. Testing does not rule out all pathogens, harmful algae, sewage spills or other hazards. Follow current posted advisories and closures.

Crowd meter

Plan around the named entrance and the services you need; no measured beach occupancy or reliable live parking-vacancy series was established. A small access point does not guarantee an empty beach.

The park describes an offshore Anastasia reef in 5–35 feet of water. It prohibits spearfishing, damaging anchoring and removal of artifacts or fossils, and requires a diver-down flag and paired divers. This does not establish an easy beginner shore-entry route or today’s visibility.
