Round Island Oceanside Park
2201 South Highway A1A, Vero Beach. Use the county’s signed named park entrance/crossover; no numbered crossover or continuous waterline route is selected. Read the entrance-specific facility and accessible-route evidence below.
Official route / restriction details ↗Parking, route & accessibility evidence
Parking & entry: Free parking. 73 parking spaces and 6 accessible spaces are listed; the current county description expressly says free parking. Navigate to 2201 South Highway A1A, Vero Beach, the ocean-side park. Historical FDEP’s 2200 address and boat-ramp note must not direct ocean visitors to Riverside.
Parking source ↗Accessibility: ADA crossover · sand route unspecified. The county identifies an ADA beach crossover and a complimentary beach wheelchair available 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; bring photo ID, complete the waiver and call 772-268-5978 on arrival. It does not name an installed mat, measure the remaining sand gap, identify a continuous firm waterline route or give a parking-to-sand walking distance.

Check before you go
Check the county hotline, current beach signs, the dated weather/rip forecast and the exact laboratory station result. Ordinary hours, a guarded-area inventory and an older no-advisory sample do not establish today’s opening or safe swimming.

What to bring & supporting visit details
Plan your visit
Schedule a visit within the published guard hours when that coverage matters; confirm staffing first. Reserve or ask about the loan chair before depending on it. Bring shade and drinking water, use the signed crossover and plan around sunset. Crossing to Riverside is a separate lagoon excursion, not the ocean approach.

Entry route, fees & access boundaries
- Manager / access authority
- Indian River County Parks and Recreation
- Access basis
- The county identifies this named public ocean beach park and its designated crossover.
- Where to enter
- 2201 South Highway A1A, Vero Beach; Use the county’s signed named park entrance/crossover; no numbered crossover or continuous waterline route is selected.
- Fees & reservations
- See the entrance section for parking and entry details and sources.
- Restrictions & exceptions
- Use the signed park crossover during hours, keep off vegetated dunes and follow posted closures. Do not use refuge names, mailing addresses or proximity to expand the supported shoreline or assign neighboring entrances.
- What this label covers
- Named county park arrival only; no outer shoreline boundary or new canonical historical-observation membership is assigned.
Beach ownership, the route across land, public shoreline-use rights and access to facilities are separate questions. Rules vary by state and location. Use the identified public entrance or documented permission; neither a nearby resort nor an admission fee by itself establishes that a beach is private. A mapped beach is not permission to cross private property.
Access policy reviewed 2026-10-06. Not a live closure report or a property-boundary survey.
Allowed & prohibited activities
Alcohol: Alcohol is prohibited in the county park under the rule published on its named page.
Fires and grills: The county lists 5 designated grills while prohibiting open fires. Use the park’s designated grills under posted instructions; that is not permission for a beach bonfire.
Overnight camping: Camping and overnight parking are prohibited; park hours do not permit a night-time beach stay.
Shore fishing: Fishing is permitted outside guarded areas during park hours. Posted swim-zone restrictions and applicable fishing licensing still control.

Daily 7 a.m. to sunset. These are ordinary published hours; temporary closure or on-site restrictions can override them.

The county publishes 9:10 a.m.–4:50 p.m. for a 390-foot guarded area but describes supervision as seasonal. Call the lifeguard tower, 772-492-2412, for the applicable dates and today’s tower duty. Wheelchair pickup uses the separately listed 772-268-5978.
- Restrooms
- County-listed restrooms & showers
The county lists restrooms and showers at this named park. Current fixture operation or an individual closure requires on-site confirmation; no lagoon or nearby resort bathroom is substituted.
