5 published guides in this county. Start with restrooms (2 qualifying beaches) or dogs allowed (1 qualifying beach), then compare the named entrances. Feature counts describe documented routes, not all beaches or every entrance in the county.

Use the verified route features below to choose where to begin. Counts refer to beaches with a qualifying named entrance, not every entrance. These are planning details, not current opening or guard duty.

Veteran’s Park Beach, Charlestown

Entrance: Veteran’s Park public shore at Market and Water Streets

Restrooms

Parking & entry: Use designated town parking. The current parks page lists Lot A at Avalon Park as permit/ParkMobile, Lot B on Louisa Lane as free public parking, and Lot C at Veteran’s Park as residents-only with a resident permit. Do not use resident-only Lot C as a nonresident beach-arrival plan.

Check before going: The adjacent Lot C is resident-only. Use other lawful town parking and confirm beach-specific dog rules and toilet hours.

Foot Log Park Beach

A small municipal beach reached over a wooden footbridge at Bladen and Conestoga Streets. Respect the private properties on either side; do not mistake the public beach for unrestricted access along the whole riverbank.

Arrival, facilities and sources

Sandy Beach, Charlestown

Charlestown’s small municipal Sandy Beach at Calvert and Conestoga Streets overlooks the North East River and Elk Neck Peninsula. Keep its facilities and rules separate from nearby Veteran’s Park and the private Manor campground.

Arrival, facilities and sources

Crystal Beach Manor

A privately operated sandy day-use beach with a separate per-person entry charge and optional inside-fence parking charge. Check operating dates directly; the website’s Open Now banner is not a live arrival guarantee.

Coverage and evidence

Named beach guides, separate access references and unresolved leads retain distinct evidence. No complete shoreline or unrestricted access claim is made. Public directory rows are limited to separately supported coastal settings; other inland or unresolved inventory leads remain private. Unresolved candidate arrivals remain separate; publication is not exhaustive shoreline certification.

A ramp, dock, geographic label, private shore, park admission or historical monitoring record does not establish beach membership, swimming permission, current opening or a continuous accessible route.

Map pins are approximate planning references. Check the exact guide for lawful arrival and manager notices. Forecasts, tide predictions, laboratory samples and warning flags retain separate sources and dates.

Beach contacts and parking planning

On November 2, 2026, Cecil County Tourism supplied 410-275-1183 as the Crystal Beach operator contact, with a suggestion to leave a message if unanswered. It also advised that parking for Charlestown’s public beaches is very limited and recommended checking current rules with the Town at 410-287-6173. These are dated contact referrals and a parking advisory; they do not confirm present opening or resolve separate shoreline-access questions. Source and update note.
