6 published guides in this county. Start with restrooms (3 qualifying beaches) or shower or foot rinse (3 qualifying beaches), then compare the named entrances. Feature counts describe documented routes, not all beaches or every entrance in the county.
Use the verified route features below to choose where to begin. Counts refer to beaches with a qualifying named entrance, not every entrance. These are planning details, not current opening or guard duty.

Calvert Cliffs State Park Beach
A hike-in Chesapeake Bay fossil beach at the end of the 1.8-mile Red Trail. Enjoy the open beach while staying out of permanently closed unstable cliff areas.
Flag Ponds Nature Park Beach
A Chesapeake Bay nature-park beach reached by a half-mile walk, with fossil hunting, wetlands and woodland trails. Check the seasonal opening days and leave sand one hour before park closure.
Breezy Point Beach
A seasonal Chesapeake Bay day-use beach with a netted designated swimming area, fishing pier and shaded picnic facilities. Swimming is unguarded; the public beach season ends October 31.
North Beach
A managed Chesapeake Bay beach beside North Beach’s boardwalk, with entry fees, public facilities and designated pier fishing. The sand is unguarded; leashed dogs belong on the boardwalk rather than the beach.
Matoaka Beach
A privately operated Chesapeake Bay beach offering paid day access separately from its cabins and limited primitive camping. Bring cash, arrive before 6 p.m. and keep cabin/camp facilities distinct from day-use entitlements.
Hallowing Point Waterfront Park Beach
A tidal Patuxent waterfront with sandy shoreline for fishing and picnicking beside a busy boat launch. The manager retains an undated dredging alert; confirm current shore and ramp access before travelling.
Coverage and evidence
Fourteen independently coastal-qualified DNR water-access observations plus six separate named guide arrivals. Ramps/piers are not new beach guides. DNR edit clocks/comments remain dated observations, not present amenity guarantees; no protected parent relationship or county completeness inferred.
Use responsible sources for each arrival. No current opening, continuous accessible route, beach driving, current facilities or public right across adjoining land is inferred.
Map pins are approximate planning references. Check the exact guide for lawful arrival and manager notices. Forecasts, tide predictions, laboratory samples and warning flags retain separate sources and dates.
