Entry route, fees & access boundaries
- Manager / access authority
- City of Tybee Island beach rules; Chatham County operates Tybee Pier and Pavilion.
- Access basis
- 16th Street (Tybrisa) crossover beside Tybee Pier and Pavilion. Use designated public crossovers; stay out of dunes and posted exclusions.
- Where to enter

- Fees & reservations
- See the entrance section for parking and entry details and sources.
- Restrictions & exceptions
- Use designated crossovers; no dune disturbance, smoking/vaping, glass or removal of nonregulated live beach animals. Full nudity is prohibited. Do not walk, swim or wade beyond the signed south-end sandbar exclusion. Female-topless interpretation is not separately established.
- What this label covers
- Named public arrival only; no surveyed boundary or adjacent private crossing inferred.
Beach ownership, the route across land, public shoreline-use rights and access to facilities are separate questions. Rules vary by state and location. Use the identified public entrance or documented permission; neither a nearby resort nor an admission fee by itself establishes that a beach is private. A mapped beach is not permission to cross private property.
Access policy reviewed 2026-10-07. Not a live closure report or a property-boundary survey.
Allowed & prohibited activities
Alcohol: Beer kegs and glass containers are prohibited. Those specific prohibitions do not establish a blanket prohibition of every alcoholic drink; check current City rules.
Fires and grills: No open fires on Tybee beaches, including charcoal fires in grills or other containers.
Overnight camping: No overnight sleeping on the beach under published Tybee beach-safety rules; unattended personal property restrictions have a separate 9 p.m.–7 a.m. clock.
Shore fishing: Fishing is prohibited within the 60-foot right-of-way of Alley #3 Back River boat ramp. Surf/paddle boards are allowed only in designated areas and require a leash. No pier jumping/diving. Other fishing footprints and Georgia license rules require separate confirmation.

Clothing-optional, nudity & topless sunbathing
Full nudity / clothing-optional: Prohibited in the stated authority scope.
Topless sunbathing: Permission not established.
Full nudity is expressly prohibited; generic nudity wording is not separately verified female-topless interpretation. No exact beach-specific permission or typical underwater visibility / snorkeling route assessment is established. Promotional water color, bacteria results and boat transport do not establish this preference.
These are distinct policy questions. An unknown rule is not permission; Florida rules do not apply to Georgia.
