Bringing a dog: Dogs are not allowed on county-operated beaches except service animals as defined by the ADA. Swimming: County lists guarded beach frontage. Public or private?
Public access
Who can visit: Open to the general public, including visitors, during permitted hours and subject to posted rules.
Entry route, fees & access boundaries
- Manager / access authority
- Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation manages the described public beach facilities; do not infer management from the mailing municipality alone.
- Access basis
- This listing covers a publicly managed beach access or park, not a private guest-only beach.
- Where to enter
- Responsible authority identifies this as a public beach destination. Public eligibility is separate from temporary closure, individual entrance availability and route accessibility.
- Fees & reservations
- See the entrance section for parking and entry details and sources.
- Restrictions & exceptions
- Use the designated boardwalks at Ocean Inlet Park ocean beach and keep off dune vegetation. Follow posted swimming and activity zones, leave wildlife undisturbed, and remove your equipment when you leave. Public beach eligibility does not override an entrance closure or authorize a shortcut through private property. County rules require compliance with posted activity restrictions and closures. Do not enter a closed, construction or restricted area; the park’s public status does not guarantee that every entrance or facility is open today. Dogs are not allowed on county-operated beaches except service animals as defined by the ADA. Published beach-park hours: sunrise–sunset. Inlet or jetty fishing exceptions do not make swimming or park facilities available overnight.
- What this label covers
- Approved named destination only; public eligibility does not imply current opening or a surveyed accessible entrance.
Beach ownership, the route across land, public shoreline-use rights and access to facilities are separate questions. Rules vary by state and location. Use the identified public entrance or documented permission; neither a nearby resort nor an admission fee by itself establishes that a beach is private. A mapped beach is not permission to cross private property.
Access policy reviewed 2026-10-03. Not a live closure report or a property-boundary survey.
Allowed & prohibited activities
Alcohol is prohibited on county park property except in specifically authorized areas or permitted events. Sealed original packages may be stored or transported in a vehicle or vessel; that exception does not permit drinking on the beach. A picnic area is not automatically an authorized drinking area.

County guidance prohibits fires except where fireplaces or grills are provided. Use the designated cooking facilities, extinguish coals and do not treat a park grill as permission for a bonfire on the sand.

Camping and tents or shelters are restricted to areas designated by the county Parks Director. A beach visit is not permission to set up an overnight camp; arrange any designated camping use with the county and follow this park’s posted closing time.

Saltwater fishing is not permitted in the guarded swimming area; the county lists separate fishing use. County rules also prohibit shark fishing or chumming on county beaches with guarded swimming areas and prohibit spear fishing on park property. Obey lifeguard directions and posted fishing restrictions; a fishing license does not override them.
