Parking & entry: Choose the signed public entrance. The City lists beach parking at Sandoway, Anchor, Ingraham, Atlantic Dunes and Orange Grove/North lots, with annual permits valid October 1–September 30. A senior permit for eligible residents aged 70 or older also covers specified parallel spaces on A1A. Match the permit or meter to the actual lot; this is not a blanket free-parking entitlement or a new entrance assignment.
Parking source ↗Accessibility: Choose the exact accessible route. Beach wheelchairs are listed, with a two-hour limit and a companion required. City pages disagree on the last pickup time and tower inventory; confirm with Ocean Rescue at 561-243-7352 before relying on a chair.

Check before you go
Timing: Delray Code §101.36 sets dawn-to-dusk hours for the municipal beach unless different hours are posted at the entrance. Lifeguard shifts and parking enforcement hours are separate. Follow posted opening hours and any temporary closure. Bringing a dog: City prohibits pets on the municipal beach and Atlantic Dunes Park; the FAQ gives an A1A sidewalk exception. The Municipal Beach page additionally describes the leashed sidewalk/grass strip west of the dune. Do not treat either as permission on the sand. Swimming: Delray Ocean Rescue lists year-round supervision at Municipal Beach and Atlantic Dunes. Both reviewed City pages agree on 9 a.m.–6:30 p.m. during daylight saving time. They disagree on standard-time closing: Ocean Rescue lists 5 p.m., while the Beach page lists season-specific endings beginning at 5:20 p.m. on November 1, 2026. Confirm the applicable shift with Ocean Rescue at 561-243-7352; a schedule is not a guard-at-tower observation. Getting there: See the entrance section for parking and entry details and sources. Facilities: The City identifies an accessible restroom at Sarah Gleason Park across Atlantic Avenue from the municipal beach access facilities. Plan your restroom stop at that named facility; this does not verify restrooms or showers at every beach crossover. Accessible visit: See the entrance section for accessibility details and sources. Latest beach notice: Delray Ocean Rescue publishes a dated City beach report for its Municipal Beach and Atlantic Dunes service. The saved October 3, 2026 report says yellow flag, with rip currents and baitfish listed as hazards. It is a City-wide report, not an observation of every tower, and may have changed. Check the official report or call 561-272-3224, then follow the flag at your entrance.

- Where to enter
- Responsible authority identifies this as a public beach destination. Public eligibility is separate from temporary closure, individual entrance availability and route accessibility.

- What this label covers
- Approved named destination only; public eligibility does not imply current opening or a surveyed accessible entrance.
Beach ownership, the route across land, public shoreline-use rights and access to facilities are separate questions. Rules vary by state and location. Use the identified public entrance or documented permission; neither a nearby resort nor an admission fee by itself establishes that a beach is private. A mapped beach is not permission to cross private property.
Access policy reviewed 2026-10-03. Not a live closure report or a property-boundary survey.
