Space Coast beach entrances with facilities and guards
Choose a named park or tower, not a countywide facilities badge. A restroom elsewhere on the shoreline is not useful when you have children or mobility needs at a different walkover.
Our starting recommendation: Start with Lori Wilson Park for a facilities-focused Cocoa Beach day. Consider Paradise/Futch when you are nearer the Melbourne end of the coast. Confirm the guard is actually on duty before swimming.
Your shortlist
Cocoa Beach
Entrance to investigate: Lori Wilson Park · 1500 N Atlantic Avenue
Choose it for: A park with facilities in the Cocoa Beach visitor district.
Tradeoff: Verify the tower schedule conflict; the fenced dog park is not a dog-beach permission.
Ocean Rescue lists daily 10 a.m.–5 p.m. full-time towers at Cocoa Beach Pier, Shepard Park, Lori Wilson Park, Minutemen Causeway and Paradise/Futch Park. This is program coverage, not a live staffing report. Other towers are seasonal. Jetty Park has separate Port-provided coverage; do not extend a tower’s coverage to nearby street ends.
Both the Lori Wilson and Paradise/Futch park pages describe seasonal lifeguards, while Ocean Rescue lists their towers as full-time. Keep that discrepancy visible and confirm staffing with Ocean Rescue or the on-site tower. Neither an editorial recommendation nor a green weather forecast resolves it.
Lori Wilson has restrooms and outdoor showers on the north and south sides of its hammock, and the county lists free parking. Paradise/Futch also lists restrooms, showers and free parking. Park availability, accessible crossovers and remaining sand conditions should still be checked for the selected route.
Selections are editorial advice. Official rules and dated notices have the narrower scopes described above. Conditions, staffing and surfaces can change; these pages do not guarantee current opening or safety. Photographs show the named beach, not every entrance or today’s condition; credits are in each full guide.
