Four established coastal destinations deserve a place in this guide: Haulover, Blind Creek, Apollo and Playalinda. Their status differs. Topless sunbathing is a separate question from full nudity, and a reported practice does not establish permission.
Our starting recommendation: For a clearly published county designation, start with Haulover’s northern section or Blind Creek. Apollo and Playalinda have established naturist use documented by AANR, with current official policy and exact nude-use scope still awaiting confirmation. These are four established destinations, not a claim that every informal nude-use location in Florida has been identified.

Choose it for: A county-defined clothing-optional area with published North Lot parking guidance.
Tradeoff: Paid parking and the North Lot surcharge apply. The southern dog zone does not share this permission; a step-free route is not established.

Choose it for: Official designation documented by county tourism; clothing, topless sunbathing and full nudity are choices within that designated area.
Tradeoff: The main and alternative route identities remain unresolved. Do not infer restroom operation, accessible access or an outer boundary; this is not a verified matcher entrance.

Entrance to investigate: Canaveral National Seashore northern approach · lot 5 / southern beach area reported by AANR
Choose it for: Established nude use at the national seashore near New Smyrna Beach, documented by the naturist association. This is not Apollo Beach Nature Preserve on Tampa Bay.
Tradeoff: AANR’s June 2025 account says this is not officially designated by NPS. Older agreement accounts and newer descriptions differ; current official status and exact limits remain unconfirmed. Do not extend the practice to every crossover, dunes or the whole seashore.

Choose it for: Established naturist use at the Titusville-side beach, included in AANR Florida’s destination directory.
Tradeoff: AANR calls it unofficial. Do not treat reports extending toward lot 12 as a verified boundary. Current official permission and exact scope need confirmation; posted closures and NPS access rules still apply.

Topless sunbathing means upper-body exposure with bottoms worn; full nudity also removes that covering. In Haulover’s and Blind Creek’s designated clothing-optional areas, visitors may remain clothed, go topless or be fully nude. That designation does not transfer to adjacent ordinary beaches, parking lots or streets. Apollo and Playalinda’s documented naturist use is discussed separately from verified county designation.

Travel reporting describes topless sunbathing on Miami Beach, including South Beach. This review did not establish a current city confirmation or an exact permitted stretch from the published beach rules. We therefore label it reported practice, not verified permission. It does not establish full-nudity permission, extend to every Miami-Dade beach or create a positive matcher tag. No additional topless-only public coastal area is marked permitted in this review.

Haulover’s clothing-optional section is the northern area between towers 12–16, served by North Lot. Blind Creek’s designation does not establish every entrance or nearby stretch as clothing optional. Clothing remains a personal choice within the designated area; respect other visitors’ privacy and current signs.

Boca Chica / Geiger Key remains an informal-use research candidate, with current permission and lawful arrival unresolved. Do not confuse it with the military marina beach. Passage Key is closed to public use; the Nathaniel P. Reed Hobe Sound refuge prohibits nudity. Neither belongs in a list of permitted nude beach visits. Historical use, a proposed designation, private inland resorts and duplicate beach sections are not additional verified coastal destinations.

Editorial coverage is broader than verified matcher eligibility. Haulover’s northern route qualifies; Blind Creek remains a possible fit pending entrance verification. Apollo, Playalinda and reported topless practice receive no verified permission tag from these accounts. Unknowns get no positive tag, and facilities or dog rules from another section cannot be combined into a match.
