Corolla Beach's Southern Beach Access and Corolla Village Road facility are individual arrivals, with different facilities and route limitations. Other walkovers retain their own parking and guard evidence. The Corolla Village Road accessible route has a posted washout limitation; a general accessibility page does not establish that the ramp is currently usable.
The northern four-wheel-drive area requires an appropriate vehicle and a separate review of beach traffic and parking rules. The reserve trailhead parking lot and Sound boardwalk are not a pedestrian ocean-beach approach or beach carpool staging area.

Corolla Beach
Atlantic beach with named public walkovers, including Southern Beach Access and Corolla Village Road. Bathhouses, guard schedules and route limitations are entrance-specific.
Currituck Four-Wheel-Drive Beach
Northern Atlantic beach reached through the North Beach Access four-wheel-drive ramp. Traffic lanes, seasonal parking permits and wildlife protection govern; the ramp has no parking or visitor facilities.
Parking permits, traffic and wildlife
The county changed its beach-parking permit season for 2026. Parking permission, drive-through access and the seasonal driving-lane rules have different scopes and dates; read the four-wheel-drive guide before departure. Keep the required distance from wild horses and follow the county's exact posted rules.
Carova, Swan Beach and North Swan Beach are retained as distinct named research references. These guides do not invent subdivision shore boundaries, authorize private roads or imply access to every refuge tract.
Sound-side references stay separate
Carova Beach Park and Currituck Banks' Sound overlook are separate waterfront references. A boat ramp, picnic park or accessible overlook does not establish a swimming beach or a continuous route into the Atlantic. Currituck National Wildlife Refuge has tract-specific access, hours and restrictions; broad island access does not grant entry through private property.
Conditions and research scope
The October 11, 2026 desk review covers 2 published guides and every required guide category. It is not an exhaustive shoreline survey, an on-site inspection or a same-day safety check. Isolated identity, route and photo-permission questions remain tracked.
Eastern Time applies. Exact North Carolina sample locations and sample dates remain separate from regional weather forecasts, tide predictions and observed warning flags. Typical clarity, shore and offshore snorkeling, full nudity/clothing-optional use and female-topless sunbathing are separately researched; unknowns do not become positive filter matches.
Only individually licensed, exact-location photographs may depict a named beach. A photograph does not prove present facilities, opening or safety.
